Gilsonite, also known as Natural Asphalt or Natural Bitumen, to serve a wide range of industries including oil and drilling, asphalt and road paving, steel and metal casting, inks, paints and varnishes and chemical products. Gilsonite can be used in shoe industry as shiner, protector of surface against the humidity and dust also make flexibility due solid oil content. Gilsonite or natural asphalt also can be used in ink industry to be used as stabilizer of ink and increase the stickiness on the paper.
Our mine, factory, and warehouses are located in west of Iran at Kermanshah Province, Iran, and the headquarters of our company is located in Tehran with a branch in Kermanshah, Iran. At present, our company produces three grades of Gilsonite for our customer's based on their requirements.
1- Gilsonite lump with ash percentage between 0 and 25.
2- Granulated Gilsonite with a diameter of 30 to 40 meshes and ashes between 0 and 25 percent.
3- Gilsonite micronized powder with a diameter of 80 to 400 mesh and ashes between 0 and 25 percent.
We offer a variety of packaging options based on customer orders and also as OEM business.

Bakhtar Ghir Companys owner of a Gilsonite Mine and founded its bitumen refinery factory in west of Iran (Kermanshah). The factory was established in 2006 in a 20.000 square meter with the capacity of production of 200.000 MT annually and 20.000 MT per month to assume the responsibilities of its predecessor. We have a history and experience dating back for more than 20 years.

Heated Penetration Grade bitumen under controlled environment is blown with air which controls the oil content in the bitumen while it oxidized. The different grades for suited applications produced are designated by two numbers to indicate the mid-points of their softening point and penetration ranges.
